Birding 101 at Smith Neighborhood Library
Birds are all around us, from our backyards to local parks. No matter where you live, you can observe birds, which makes birding a fun hobby you can do anywhere, anytime. Learn the basics of bird identification at Birding 101 with Houston Audubon! You’ll get an understanding of the field marks that birders use to recognize different species and be on your way to becoming a birder! The event is free but registration is required. The registration link below contains a map of the location.
Avian Artistry
Join Houston Audubon in a creative class where you’ll learn how to draw birds and foliage. Participants will take a stroll through the Houston Botanic Garden for inspiration and create a work of art to take home with them. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience with drawing, this class will guide you step-by-step as you bring nature to life on paper. This class will be led by Cin-Ty Lee, who is a Houston Audubon board member, geologist, and bird researcher and artist.
All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their preferred art supplies if desired. Register at the link below.
